Some craft supplies get used up very quickly at my house. Stickers are definitely in that category.
They mostly end up somewhere on my clothing, only to be discovered later by a stranger, in public.
My house is littered with the remnants of stickers-long-past. As part of the Learning with Your Craft Stash challenge, my mom helped me come up with this great way to use up sticker scraps while practicing fine motor skills.
Supplies:
Scissors
Paper
A writing utensil
And a left over sticker sheet like this…
Instructions:
Have your child cut up pieces of the leftover sheet. This will create random assorted shapes and is great for practicing scissor skills. (Pardon the leftover LUNCH on the table.)
Next, have the child peel of the sticker. This is significantly more challenging now that the sticker is no longer a part of the larger sheet.
Draw a hollowed out letter on a sheet of paper. We drew a “T”. Have your child place the stickers within the framework of the letter for extra fine motor practice.
There you have it. A no-waste way to get your students learning with stickers!!!
This post is part of a great series on ways to use common craft supplies to help your kids to learn! No fancy materials or curriculum required!

This is such a great idea! It always seemed like such a waste to throw away the rest of the sticker sheet. I’ll have to remember this.

I was pretty excited myself!

I always hate throwing away those sticker sheets – they still seem to have some life left in them, to me. Thanks for the idea of what to do with them!

You bet!
