Our home is getting exponentially more imaginative with each passing day. Loopy is just loving all forms of pretend play! It’s great because it costs nothing yet affords us hours of fun that we all get to join in on.
Check out our latest scenario that doubles as a math game!I don’t know about you, but my kids LOVE elevators and clamor to push as many buttons as I’ll let them.
Loopy started calling his practically empty walk-in-closet “the elevator” and the rest just popped into my head.
Couldn’t really be any easier or cheaper.
Yup. Just write some numbers down on a sheet of paper. I’m sure you could make it prettier than mine. Use some painters tape and whala (how do you spell that?) you’re very own elevator!
Loopy decided to don an elevator man hat…
We pretended that each floor was an exciting destination like the library or the kitchen. We had tons of books and play food in the closet in no time.
Loopy has his letters down, but numbers are lagging a bit. This was the perfect way to sneak some extra learning into his day. We worked on recognizing numbers. We even got to explore the concepts of less and more, higher or lower and just the slightest hint of addition.
Other than the lack of air conditioning, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Even Lumpy got in on the action!

Wow, that’s a really good idea. My daughter have always wanted to press those buttons (in real elevator!). This way, she can press to her heart’s content and learn numbers (hopefully) at the same time. Thanks!
