Am I the only one that turns into a complete baby when I wake up with a sore neck? Seriously, what a pain in the…well…neck! I’ve had some incredible success with this DIY essential oils blend for sore muscles. I tend to be suspicious of the placebo effect, but I’ve used this blend multiple times and can’t believe how well it works!

Ingredients:
10-20 drops of Clove Essential Oil
10-20 drops of Peppermint Essential Oil
Dime sized dab of Coconut Oil
I tried this as experiment one night when my calf was killing me. I knew clove oil was warming and peppermint oil was cooling so I just mixed some up with coconut oil and applied it generously. Within a minute or two, the sensation will become intense. It’s quite lovely, but be careful not to put the blend on sensitive skin areas, ESPECIALLY the eyes! Wash your hands after applying, so you don’t have any mishaps.
Earlier this week I had a neck ache that had been bothering me for two days that I couldn’t seem to relieve with sleep, massage or a heating pad. I whipped up this essential oil blend for sore muscles and was pain free within minutes. And here’s the remarkable thing, after the tingling subsided (roughly an hour) I was feeling good as new! My guess is that the essential oils bring more blood flow to the area, but I’m just speculating.

Would it be possible to use sweet almond oil and do a rollerball blend with it?
