Family Update: Our Ferris Bueller Day!

June 19, 2012 By Julie Leave a Comment

When a day starts out like this, you know it’s gonna be fun.

Owen and I decided to play hookie from our responsibilities today with Andy’s blessing. First we hit up story time at the library. It was packed! I couldn’t believe how well Owen paid attention and didn’t cause any scenes. We’ll be back.

Then we headed downtown to bum around. We hit up SoCo and some street venders. Yummy!

After that we went to Zilker Park. Only the coolest place in town. Well, I mean, there’s a lot of cool places, but this is an all-around awesome place to spend the day. Huge city park, walking trails along the lake, canoeing, botanical gardens, free outdoor theater, a natural spring/pool… we decided to ride the Zilker Zephyr. Take a peek.

Every time it would slow down, Owen made the sign for more because he didn’t want it to end.

So handsome and sleepy.

What a wonderful day with my son !
