March Blog Income Report

April 22, 2016 By Julie 1 Comment

(Sorry for being so late in getting my March blog income report out to ya’ll. Life gets crazy!)

I’m pretty quiet by nature.

But if you want to get me talking, ask me about blogging.

This little hobby has turned into one of the biggest blessings in my life! Not many people can stay home with their kids, earn an income, let their creative juices flow, and bless other people all at the same time.

To help other bloggers out, I publish my income every month and give you a break down of where it came from and what happened in my little blogging world that month. I’ll show you what’s working for me and what’s not. Hopefully we’ll notice an upward trend!

Without further ado, here’s a very part-time blogger’s income report.

Income Report Mar 16

This post contains affiliate links for your convenience. Read my full disclosure policy here.

February Stats

Pageviews – 88,210

Unique Users – 56,760

Earnings

Amazon – $112.40 Affiliate Sales

The Blogger Network – $590.58 Ad Revenue

Clever Girls – $175 Sponsored Posts

My Products – $28

Income Total – $905.98

Expenses

Hosting – $36 I use TechSurgeons and love them to pieces! They sped up my site and I feel so comfortable being able to talk to the SAME real live person every time I have a question. I’ve used RFE in the past and was pleased. They’re a cheaper option and they can TOTAL handle huge spikes in traffic with ease! NO fear of capping.

Pinterest Scheduler – $9.99 Tailwind is a life saver! They have some excellent features that make pinning your own content to multiple boards easy and fast! They’re also the only scheduler approved by Pinterest!

Newsletter Service – $27 Mad Mimi is my email service provider and I just upgraded to the paid service. Even when I was on the free plan, the customer service was astonishingly good! Now that I’m on the paid plan, I’m loving the drip campaign feature. It automatically sends out a series of pre-written introductory emails to new subscribers.

Affiliate Payout – $3.50 (Want to be MY affiliate and sell products I made?)

Stock Photography – $10 Dollar Photo Club

IZEA – $1 Sponsored Posts (Member Fee)

Virtual Assistant – $90

Expenses Total – $177.49

Net Income – $728.49

Thoughts:

Well, pageviews are still dropping thanks to Pinterest changes. But I know that most bloggers are hurting too, so at least it’s not just me. Sigh.

But this was the second month that my ad income went up despite pageviews going down. I have no idea how that works, accept that I’ve heard the longer your pageviews are high, the better quality ad bids you’ll get. Despite the good outcome, I’ve decided to switch ad networks. We actually just started yesterday with Mediavine. They’re main MO is to lower the number of ads on the page to speed up site loading speed, increase rank in Google search and keep readers happy, all adding to more pageviews = more revenue. I’ve heard great things about them, so here goes nothin’!

This month I tried to become more active on Instagram. I installed a pop-up on my sight called MiloTree. While I’m still small on IG at least I’m no longer at a standstill!

Still working on that book, but I’m further along. I can’t wait to show everyone!

I also want to really start using my subscription to LeadPages. They’re a super slick way to get email subscribers, facebook followers and more! I love that it helps me sort through readers interests and invite them to various facebook groups and email lists based on interests!
