Colander Madness and Ice Cube Mayhem

September 16, 2012 By Julie Leave a Comment

As this summer heat drags on in Central Texas, Owen and I have been trying to find new ways to stay entertained in the AC. I never knew that I would get cabin fever in the summer. At least we shouldn’t have this problem in the winter. We’ll see. Here are two simple activities that are classic fun for little ones!

Colander and Piper Cleaners

Our first go to activity is the colander/pipe cleaner game.

I don’t understand the fascination, but I’m not gonna question it. He truly can’t get enough. We tried this when he was about a year old and he didn’t like it near as much then as he does now.

Colored Ice Cubes

Next is an easy way to liven up bath time festivities. Just add a drop or two of food coloring to your ice trays before they freeze. Once solid, stick a couple in the tub and watch your little one chase them around before they melt.

PS. The red sure looked like blood, so don’t get freaked out.
