Cooking and Baking Unit: Soup Craft

March 25, 2014 By Julie Leave a Comment

We loved studying cooking and baking for this month’s preschool unit.  It was just so natural to learn throughout the day, whenever we were hungry (which is a lot!) We read a ton of great books, so if you need a reading list, I’m all over it for you.

We did do one artsy type thing after reading Duck Soup by Jackie Urbanovic, a hilarious tale about a duck obsessed with creating the perfect soup. While out in his garden, his friends enter the kitchen and mistakenly assume that the duck has fallen into the super. Loopy thought it was so funny!

I kinda just made up this craft using the two items below:

Pom Poms and Foil Shreds

Draw a large soup bowl and let your child fill in the “noodles” and “meatballs” and glue it down. That’s it! Told you it was simple!
