DIY All Your Toiletries and Cleaners with SIX Ingredients

March 18, 2020 By Julie 5 Comments

Inside You’ll Find: Homemade DIY Toiletry and Cleaning Recipes with VERY FEW ingredients!

This post may give you the wrong impression of me.

I’m no Ma Ingalls, toughing it out on the prairie and grinding my own wheat!

(Though I DO have the simplest bread recipe ever for you to try! Seriously, it takes a couple minutes, four ingredients and is ready in under an hour!)

I don’t have ample time on my hands. Far from it.

I’m running a three ring circus over here and I need to keep things simple and cheap! But I also want to reduce the nasty chemicals in our lives. The following recipes for household cleaners and toiletries are at their most simple! I wanted to give you a list of six ingredients that can make just about everything you need!

(I will admit, I cheated twice. The glass cleaner has cornstarch, and the sunscreen needs zinc oxide and beeswax, but I though I’d include them anyway if you’re looking for solutions for those needs!)

Are you ready to learn what six ingredients I use to make practically everything?

Drum roll please….

Six Ingredients to Make Practically All Your Household Goods

Baking Soda

Vinegar

Castile Liquid Soap ( I get a big one, but there are certainly smaller more affordable options available!)

Rubbing Alcohol

Coconut Oil

Essential Oils (See below!)

A note on essential oils: If you’re just getting started with oils, look through these recipes and see which ones you want to make. Like, if you want to do the toothpaste, I suggest a minty oil! If you’re making handsoap, an antibacterial blend like this one would be smart!

If you can only get one, I think Lemon Oil will cover the most bases. It’s got a lot of good antibac qualities, cleans like a dream and smells heavenly! If you’ve got the money, get the antibac blend, lemon, Lavender Oil, and Peppermint Oil. You’ll be able to make pretty much everything you want with those, plus some great smelling room spray!

Curious about my thoughts on why I don’t use the big name brands of essential oils and how to know if it’s a quality product? Here’s why I don’t buy MLM essential oils.

Toiletries

Hand Soap

Castile Soap, Water, Essential Oils, Foaming Dispenser (See the full foaming hand soap recipe HERE!)

Fellow oil skin girl over here. That’s a product I do buy commercially. I find most other DIY soaps too harsh.
