Getting My Fill in San Antonio

June 30, 2016 By Julie Leave a Comment

I’ve decided I live near the best two cities in Texas.

Austin: well it’s weird in all the best ways.

And San Antonio: it’s unlike anything else Texas has to offer. It’s full of culture, fun activities, food and of course, the exotic river walk!

San Antonio

Thank you to all these wonderful businesses that sponsored us and opened their doors and arms to us. You’re generosity was amazing!

Recently I was blessed to spend another amazing weekend in San Antonio at the INSIGHT Blogger Retreat. It was an amazing time to focus on my blogging craft with a small group of fellow bloggers as we each shared our expertise with each other. I highly recommend seeing if there’s a retreat near you!

We got to stay in the perfect setting. Hotel Valencia is right on the gorgeous river walk and has a super chic atmosphere. I felt the coolness rubbing off on me the moment I walked in.

IMG_2742We had our sessions in the conference room and ate some incredible breakfast foods in their restaurant Citrus.

Our first dinner in San Antonio was at the Brazilian Fogo de Chao and it was outrageously delicious traditional Churrasco. Servers called Gaucho come by your table with huge skewers of meat cooked to perfection. There’s also a “Market Table” that is oh so much more than a salad bar. I wish I had a second stomach so I could have consumed even more. It was such a special treat!

On our last day in San Antonio, we had the exciting opportunity to dine at the Nano Latin Gastro Bar where students from the local Culinary Institute of America showcased their skills with a six course meal! I tried things I’ve never tried before, and each course was more delicious than the last. It was clear that everyone that worked there took pride in their craft.

Bakery Lorraine spoiled us rotten with their incredible breakfast and desserts. Just when I thought I couldn’t eat any more, their perfect macaroons were placed before me! It’s the perfect place for an afternoon pick-me up.

There is so many exciting and unique things to do in San Antonio and the Convention and Visitor’s Bureau welcomed us with open arms. We had an incredible time learning about the history of the riverwalk via the tour boats.

We also enjoyed the “Doseum” a children’s museum that kept my boys entertained for the whole day!

I can’t wait to go back to San Antonio and enjoy more sights via the super handy Smart Destinations Go City Card. This app is the best way to see tons of the city while staying on budget. You can see 3-5 of the top attraction in San Antonio at a 40% discount.

Please put San Antonio at the top of your must see travel list and check out these fine establishments. You won’t regret it! And if you’re a blogger, don’t forget to apply to attend an Insight Blogger Retreat near you!
