Guest Room/Office Makeover

July 9, 2019 By Julie Leave a Comment

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of FrogTape®. All opinions are 100% mine.

I’m a big believer that paint is a DIY home owners best friend! There’s nothing else that can totally transform a room like a fresh coat of paint and still stay within a tight budget. Our family is entering a new stage of life. A stage without any babies needing nurseries. Part of me is sad to close the baby chapter. But most of me is excited for this new stage. I much prefer adventures and conversations with my growing young men to the crying, sleepless nights and diapers of the early years. When all three of my boys moved into one bedroom, that left the nursery looking rather babyish. We wanted to use it as a guest room that can also be my office. To accomplish that, the color desperately needed to be changed. (See where the rocking chair banged up against the wall about 3,592 times?!!) I decided on a color somewhere between blue and grey. We wanted it to be a gender neutral color so that guests and possible foster kiddos would feel comfortable without a major overhaul. I also crave natural light especially while working, so I wanted it to be bright! I decided I wanted to let my boys help me with the painting, so painters tape was a must! I’m know for dreaming up ideas and getting in over my head. I wanted crisp clean lines without having to do any touch ups. I didn’t want this to be a long drawn out project. We used FrogTape® for the walls AND our trim and I couldn’t be more pleased! The unique thing about FrogTape® brand painter’s tapes are how they’re treated with patented PaintBlock® Technology, a super-absorbent polymer that reacts with the water in latex paint and instantly gels to form a micro-barrier that seals the edges of the tape, so there’s no paint bleed or need for redos. When doing the trim and floorboards, we used FrogTape® Delicate Surface Painting Tape because it’s best for use on  fresh paint that’s at least dry to the touch, wallpaper, finished wood, veneer, laminate, vinyl and drywall (primed only). No other painting tape on the market is treated with patented PaintBlock® Technology.   When using frogtape, I could see how the PaintBlock®  formed a barrier against paint bleed by reacting with the water in latex paints and instantly gelling, giving you the sharpest paint lines possible. FrogTape saved us time and gave the room a professional look! If it can stand up to my boys, it can stand up to anything! This new color is a BIG improvement. In fact, the whole room looks bigger! See how bright and crisp?!? Thank you FrogTape! Now I actually want to work in here! I can’t stop smiling when I walk in. What a mood lifter! If you’re wanting to make an easy change for very little work and money, I highly suggest getting a can of bright paint and some FrogTape to see how you can completely transform a room!
