Kid-Made Thanksgiving Placemats

November 21, 2014 By Julie 8 Comments

I can’t believe Thanksgiving will be upon us in less than a week! We’re so blessed to be able to celebrate with family and I wanted the boys to have a part in setting a harvest-y mood. These kid-made Thanksgiving placemats are quite simple to make yet look adorable! We’re even using them as a banner of sorts until the big day!

The supply list is pretty minimal:

Tissue Paper Squares

Marker

Construction Paper

Glue

Con-Tact Paper

Because of the number of guests we’ll be having for dinner, I decided to go with “Give Thanks” over “Thanksgiving” but that is of course your call. Draw one big bubble letter on each sheet of paper.

Then squeeze some glue on it. Lumpy got some help from my mom.

Or the older kids can do it themselves.

Next, have the kiddos place the tissue squares within the letters.

If you want them to be waterproof, apply the Con-Tact Paper. And there you have it, an easy Thanksgiving placemat that kids can make!
