If you’re a casual reader, feel free to ignore this post. But if you’ve been bit by the blogging bug like me, you just eat up post like this. This post also contains affiliate links for your convenience. Read the full disclosure policy here.
If you want to get a little background on my blog, here’s my first income report that details how I got to the point of being able to make a couple bucks.
2015 started out with a bang.
I had my first “viral” post, traffic was through the roof (~140K), and all my social media following doubled! I switched from Google Adsense to The Blogger Network at the end of the month. I also joined many third party companies that hook bloggers up with brands to do sponsored posts. My favorite has been Clever Girls. I’ve already done two campaigns for them, but they didn’t get published till March so that income will have to wait.
My pageviews in February dropped significantly (~45K) like I expected they would. And the month is super short!
Even though my pageviews were cut by 2/3rds and I didn’t do a sponsored post, my income didn’t take too bad of a hit. I’ve got to contribute that to switching from Adsense to TBN!
February blog income report (not what was paid out):
Amazon (Affiliate links): $67
Izea (Sponsored Posts): $50 (Hired for a sponsored post that didn’t work out. The technology didn’t work on the brands end and after a lot of hassle, they gave me 1/2 compensation since it was impossible to write a positive post but I had spent a good deal of time on it.)
The Blogger Network (Ads): $120.89
Total: $287.39
This coming month I’m really excited to get into a rhythm. I’m hovering around 60K pageviews and my social media following is growing nicely because of TWO giveaways going on this month. (There’s three chances to win $500 and a chance to win a Deluxe Package of the Jesus Storybook Bible.) I’m also having a lot more opportunities for sponsored posts. If all goes as planned, I’ll be making over $400 with those next month alone!
Wanna start blogging now? I must warn you, it’s addictive.
Already a blogger? Any suggestions for me? I could certainly use some!

Julie, thank you for sharing. I always LOVE when bloggers do this. Not sure I’m brave enough to put it out there but I personally LOVE it since I’m obsessed with blogging, ha!
That’s so great you had a post go viral. Those stats are impressive! Can you share which post it was that was shared and viewed so many times? I’m always wondering what posts do well on pinterest!

This was the post https://www.mymundaneandmiraculouslife.com/2014/06/foodie-fridays-easy-peesy-french-bread.html It’s for super Easy French Bread. I’m so not a food blogger. It was months old before it took off. First Pinterest, then StumbleUpon. Then Happy Hooligans shared it on FB and get got over 9K shares from there. Then, I think since it’s a recipe that’s super practical, it got pinned a lot and it just is a super steady stream of views. It’s a terrible picture and a post that doesn’t represent my blog very well, but I can’t complain! Now to get a viral post about stuff I typically write about! 😉
