Sidewalk Paint

July 31, 2012 By Julie Leave a Comment

I’ve been trying to introduce Loopy to more arts and crafts type activities, since he usually just likes doing physical/noisy things. I found this idea on the blog Domestic Charm (check it out). I thought it’d be super simple and loads of fun. It certainly delivered.

The recipe is as easy as it gets. 1 cup of water mixed with 1 cup of cornstarch. Add some food coloring and presto! We did find that we had to keep stirring so it would solidify on the bottom. Also, the paint was really runny. If doing this with an aspiring artist, I could see them getting frustrated. But Loopy didn’t care at all.

He actually did this for over 45 minutes. Loopy NEVER does anything for 45 minutes. We had a grand time!

(Clean up was actually pretty easy! Good thing, because we were both totally covered in the stuff by the end.)
