Ten Thoughts that Ran through My Head When I Found Out I’ll be a Mom of ALL Boys

July 1, 2015 By Julie 7 Comments

I always wanted to know as soon as possible.

When the ultrasound technician asked if we wanted to find out the gender of our unborn child, I’ve always replied with a hearty “Yes!”

With our first, I desperately wanted a boy. Success!

With the second, I was on the fence. I wanted two boys as our oldest children. But honestly, I was also looking for a little variety. Our second was a boy as well. Sweet!

With our third, I knew it was our last planned pregnancy. The stakes just seemed higher!

Mom of all boys

By this time, we’re pretty much old pros at reading ultrasounds, so the tech didn’t even have to tell us. It was pretty obvious.

I am a mom of all boys.

Here’s what went through my head…

1. I’m not sure I can come up with another boy name I like.

2. I have GOT to learn how to meal plan and freezer cook.

3. I will never get to watch a chick flick again.

4. I knew I should have stored the clothes in size order instead of piling them into disorganized boxes.

5. What am I going to do with this girl name? It’s too pretty for a dog.

6. I’m going to use my blog earnings to pay for a maid to clean the bathrooms.

7. I was made to be a boy mom. It just fits me.

8. I have a huge responsibility to raise God-fearing men.

9. I am going to be well loved by wonderful, kind, boys/men.

10. I am SO blessed!

My BOY is at this wonderful season of loving on mom and making sure mom is taken care of and mom is safe. I have to remind him that he is the child and it is my job to walk on the street side, I’m the last one to check doors before bed and when Daddy is working out of town I will tuck him in, not the other way around. He gives me compliments and tells me when something does not look so hot. Its and absolute pleasure to be a mom of a BOY.

You have such an incredible boy!!! My 4 yr old just started opening doors for me out of the blue. He tells his brother to let me go first. Said he saw it on a movie. It’s pretty cute. We are both blessed!

Love this! I think it’s awesome you’re having another boy! My sister in law (she has one boy and one on the way) was just asking me if I want more boys and I gave her a wholehearted “yes!” I love my boys and was so excited when J was born and he was a boy (we kept it a surprise). Hubby and I both really wanted another boy, so I think the first word out of my mouth when he was born was “it IS a boy!” 🙂 I would love being an all boy mom, so bring on the little boys!

I am the mom of three older boys, ages 13, 17 and almost 20. I LOVE being a mom of boys!
As a Montessori children’s house teacher (ages 3-6) and a mom, I’ve seen first hand how sweet, creative and caring boys can be.
That’s not to say there haven’t been times when I’ve longed to purchase a cute frilly sundress or tiny sandals for a girl, so my girlfriends’ daughters have benefited from my whimsy impulses. 😀
Enjoy your boys ladies! They will always come to your rescue, they are each other’s best-friend. They may wrestle and “fight” amongst themselves like puppies, but as soon as another “attacks” a brother ,they’re each there immediately to defend his sibling.
All my best and loving being a mom of boys!

I have 3 boys as well, ages 3, 2 and 8 months. Difference is, we would like a 4th child, so we shall see what God has planned for our family. I am enjoying all the cute compliments they give me and looking forward to what our future holds. So much wrestling! Ah!

What a great bunch! I always wanted five, but my body is making it clear that that’d be unwise for us. :/ Enjoy all those little blessings!
