Natural Oral Care: A Journey

March 3, 2017 By Julie Leave a Comment

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Tom’s of Maine. All opinions are 100% mine.

I remember thinking that “crunchy” people were a bunch of weirdos; afraid of every unseen molecule in the cosmos, shunning basic hygiene, and spending WAY too much time worrying about non-essentials.

Then I became one.

Like many others, my transformation was slow. When I was pregnant with my first child, I was intrigued by the idea of natural birth. It just made sense to me! Why complicate one of the most natural things in the world! Modern medicine is a great intervention when things go wrong, but if it’s intrusive from the beginning, things usually get messed up. I trusted my body to do what it was created to do!

As I started looking forward to parenting, I realized that we modern parents have over complicated so much. I searched for a more instinctive way of parenting and found that I liked most ideas about attachment parenting.

From there I started taking a look at our home. Did we really need all the stuff? All the unnecessary and sometimes harmful ingredients?

I wanted to do simple. I wanted to do natural.

I broke our home up into categories. Laundry, food, toiletries, reusables, etc. Toiletries was probably my favorite area to revamp naturally.

Thankfully, I’m not a high maintenance girl. Shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, maybe some mascara and I’m good for the day.

As I tried natural toiletries, I was pumped to realize that they worked more effectively than their chemical ridden counterparts. My oily hair finally met its match with the “No ‘Poo” method. My body stopped sweating so much when I switched to natural deodorant.

There have been times when I have made my own natural toiletries. But life gets busy and I don’t want to go back to buying stuff full of junk.

There are some brands that I trust to use the best natural ingredients without sacrificing quality. Tom’s of Maine is definitely one of them! They have a great line of products that are so specialized, you’ll be sure to get exactly what you want. They’re committed to having no artificial colors, flavors, fragrances, sweeteners or preservatives. They’re free of animal ingredients and of course don’t test their products on animals. They are committed to sustaining the environment with their sourcing and producing. Their suppliers support basic human rights and Tom’s of Maine maintains a honorable business transparency that helps me trust their products in my family’s life.

They have a full line of oral care products at Sprouts for the WHOLE family. Toothpastes galore, mouthwash, mouth wax, toothbrushes and more! And don’t forget their other products like deodorant!

Sprouts is a one stop shop for all things natural. Of course they have yummy food to fit all your dietary needs. But did you know they have a robust personal care section? I’m able to get everything I need for my family, all in one place! Since everyone is always looking to save a buck, be sure to download the free Sprouts mobile app from the  Apple Store or Google Play Store.
